# MythicMobs, BetterModel and CinematicView

MythicMobs, BetterModel and CinematicView: where mobs, bosses, models and cinematics come from.

**MythicMobs is required.** ClickEm will not start without it. It is the source of every mob, every boss skill and every ability visual.

### Who owns what

| ClickEm decides                         | MythicMobs decides                           |
| --------------------------------------- | -------------------------------------------- |
| Where a mob stands and when it respawns | What the mob is: entity, health, name, model |
| What it pays, its drops and affixes | Skills and attacks (bosses, ability visuals) |
| Who can hit it | Its look |

### Files

```
plugins/MythicMobs/
  mobs/
    ClickEm_Zonasf.yml      360 regular mobs (W1Z1f1 ... W5Z72f3)
    ClickEm_Bosses.yml      5 bosses and their adds (totems, pylons, nodes)
    ClickEm_Tutorial.yml    Preview mobs shown only in the tutorial
  skills/
    ClickEm_Abilities.yml       Visuals for all 51 abilities (CE_<ability>_Cast, _Hit, ...)
    ClickEm_BossSkills.yml      World 1 boss. _W2 ... _W5 for the others
    ClickEm_Tutorial.yml
  config/                   MythicMobs' own settings
```

Mythic's example files (`ExampleMobs.yml` and so on) are harmless and can be deleted.

Apply any change with **`/mm reload`**.

### A regular mob

```yaml
W1Z1f1:
  Type: RABBIT
  Health: 33
  Damage: 0
  Display: '&fOak Whelp &7- &8(&c<caster.hp{r=1}>&7/&c<caster.mhp>&8) &4❤'
  Faction: mobs
  AITargetSelectors:
  - 0 clear
  AIGoalSelectors:
  - 0 clear
  Options:
    NoAI: true
    Silent: true
    Collidable: false
    KnockbackResistance: 1.0
    PreventOtherDrops: true
  DamageModifiers:
  - FALL 0
  - FIRE 0
  Skills:
  - cancelEvent{sync=true} @self ~onDamaged ?damageCause{cause=DRYOUT}
```

| Field                            | Meaning                                                               |
| -------------------------------- | --------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| `Type`                           | The vanilla entity (the same species for `f1`, `f2`, `f3` in a zone). |
| `Health` | **The number you tune to make a mob tougher.** |
| `Damage: 0`                      | Regular mobs never hit. Do not change.                                |
| `Display`                        | The name. `Oak Whelp` becomes the friendly name in placeholders.      |
| `Faction: mobs`                  | Keeps them from fighting.                                             |
| `NoAI`, `AIGoalSelectors: clear` | Frozen on their pad.                                                  |
| `DamageModifiers`                | No fire or fall damage.                                               |

### ClickEm's two custom mechanics

ClickEm adds two mechanics to MythicMobs skills:

| Mechanic                                   | Used for                                                                                                       |
| ------------------------------------------ | -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| `clickemsummon{mob=;amount=;max=;radius=}` | Summoning **hittable** adds (healing totems, tentacles). Normal Mythic `summon` adds cannot be hit by players. |
| `clickemcinematic{d;r;ff;ft;e}` | The boss transformation cutscenes: freezes nearby players and glides their camera. |

**After each server start** ClickEm runs one `/mm reload` by itself, because MythicMobs reads skills before ClickEm has registered these mechanics. If you ever see "unknown mechanic clickemsummon" in the console at boot, that is why, and it is fixed by that automatic reload.

Boss skills use **scoreboard tags** as a language with ClickEm: `boss_busy` (stand still while attacking), `boss_exposed`, `boss_invulnerable` and `boss_shielded` (hit multipliers), and `bossname_<Name>` (the nameplate of the current form).

### BetterModel

Plugin folder: `plugins/BetterModel/`. Models in `BetterModel/models/` are **`.bbmodel`** files (made in Blockbench): the five bosses, their adds and attack effects (22 models). Mythic mobs use them with `model{m=worldroot_colossus}`.

| Setting (`config.yml`)  | Value                                          |
| ----------------------- | ---------------------------------------------- |
| `build-folder-location` | `ItemsAdder/contents/BetterModel/resourcepack` |
| `pack-type`             | `folder`                                       |

BetterModel **writes its resource pack into ItemsAdder's content folder**, and ItemsAdder packs and hosts everything together. After adding or changing a model:

1. `/bettermodel reload`
2. `/iazip` (rebuilds and publishes the resource pack, see [ItemsAdder](/lethium-docs/server-setup/itemsadder.md)).
3. Players must re-download the pack.

{% hint style="warning" %}
If a model shows as a **magenta cube**, the model is too large for the item-model bounds, or the pack was not rebuilt. Rebuild with `/iazip`, then rejoin.
{% endhint %}

Also: a **bone (group) and a locator cannot share a name** in a model, or BetterModel throws "Duplicate key". Prefix locators with `loc_`.

### CinematicView

Plugin folder: `plugins/CinematicView/`. It plays the **camera flights**: the new-player tutorial and the boss transformation scenes. ClickEm creates the views from `tutorial.yml`, so you never place cameras by hand. See [Tutorial](/lethium-docs/gameplay/tutorial.md). If CinematicView is missing, the tutorial falls back to a chat version.

### Good to know

* MythicMobs' `Faction: mobs` and `NoAI` settings are also re-applied by ClickEm on spawn (`spawn-behavior` in `spawners.yml`).
* ClickEm shows its own health nameplate and ignores Mythic's hologram defaults.
* Mythic drops are off. All rewards come from ClickEm's reward tables.
* Changing a mob's `Type` is safe. Changing its **id** means updating `zones.yml` (`allowed-mobs`), `spawners.yml`, `mob-rewards.yml` and `echoes.yml` (`mob-elements`).

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://lethium.gitbook.io/lethium-docs/server-setup/mythicmobs.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
