# ItemsAdder and the resource pack

ItemsAdder and the resource pack: menus, icons, armor, eggs, tooltips, hosting and rebuilding the pack.

Files: `plugins/ItemsAdder/config.yml`, `contents/`, and the generated pack.

{% hint style="success" %}
**Quick start**

* Icons are squares or barriers: run `/iazip` and rejoin.
* New picture: add it to an ItemsAdder content folder, then `/iazip`.
* Check the pack URL in `hosting.external-host.url`.
  {% endhint %}

{% hint style="info" %}
ItemsAdder is a paid plugin and its jar is **not included** in `Clicker.zip`. Install your licensed copy and keep the `ItemsAdder` folder of the package.
{% endhint %}

**Nearly everything you see that is not vanilla comes from this resource pack**: the custom menu backgrounds, the icons in menus (most are `BARRIER` items with a custom model number), the armor, egg models, Echo icons, rank badges, the tooltip frames and HUD pictures. Without the pack players see plain items and raw characters in place of icons.

### Content folders (`contents/`)

| Folder                                                          | Holds                                                                                                  |
| --------------------------------------------------------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ |
| `clickem_menus`                                                 | The menu background pictures and the `:clickem_menu_<name>:` titles                                    |
| `clickem_emojies` | The icons used as `%img_<name>%` (currency icons, rank badges `clickem_rank_*`, click icons, elements) |
| `clickem_tooltips` | The six rarity frame fonts (the glyphs in `rarity-tooltips`) |
| `clickem_armor_items`                                           | The 40 gear skins, worn armor textures                                                                 |
| `clickem_eggs`, `clickem_petboxes`                              | Egg and pet box models                                                                                 |
| `clickem_echoes`                                                | Echo icons                                                                                             |
| `BetterModel`, `BetterHud`                                      | Packs generated by those plugins                                                                       |
| `world_additions`, `color_portals`, `custom_esc`, `vanillaguis` | World decoration, portals, the escape menu, and GUI overrides                                          |

Each content folder has a namespace of the same name, used in custom model data and font glyphs.

### How the pack reaches players

```yaml
resource-pack:
  auto_apply:
    enabled: true
    delay_ticks: 35
  kick-player-on-decline: true
  kick-player-on-fail: true
  hosting:
    external-host:
      enabled: true
      url: 'https://cdn.minepack.fr/pack/...'
```

| Setting                                         | Meaning                                                                                                |
| ----------------------------------------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ |
| `auto_apply` | The pack is offered on join (after 35 ticks). |
| `kick-player-on-decline`, `kick-player-on-fail` | Players who refuse or fail to download the pack are kicked, because the game is unplayable without it. |
| `hosting.external-host` | The pack is hosted on an **external CDN** at the URL. |
| `protect-player` | Players cannot move or run commands while the pack loads. |

### Rebuilding and publishing the pack

After you change **anything** in `contents/`, or BetterModel or BetterHud add new files:

1. `/iazip` (rebuilds the pack, and uploads it to the external host if you set that up).
2. Confirm the link in `hosting.external-host.url` points to the new build.
3. Players rejoin and accept the new pack.

If the pack is **self-hosted** instead, enable `hosting.self-host` (or `simple_self_host`), set the public `server-ip` and `pack-port`, and **open that port** in your firewall.

{% hint style="warning" %}
A common cause of "all my icons are squares or BARRIER blocks" is a stale pack. Run `/iazip`, update the URL if needed, and rejoin.
{% endhint %}

### Making a menu icon

ClickEm menus use **material + `custom-model-data`**. A new icon is:

1. Add the image and a model to the ItemsAdder content that owns the item (for example `clickem_menus`).
2. Give it a `custom_model_data` number.
3. Use that number in ClickEm's config, for example `gui-icons.next-page: {material: BARRIER, custom-model-data: 10010}`.
4. `/iazip`.

### Bedrock players

Bedrock cannot use Java resource packs. Geyser can convert the pack. See [Bedrock players](/lethium-docs/server-setup/bedrock.md).

### Related

* The icon **tokens** in text (`%img_name%`, `:name:`) are font glyphs from `clickem_emojies`. See [Language and text](/lethium-docs/configuration/language-and-text.md).
* The rarity frame characters must not be edited. See [Menus and icons](/lethium-docs/configuration/menus-and-icons.md).
* `IA-Edit` (`IA-Edit-1.1.1.jar`) is an ItemsAdder add-on for editing content in game.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://lethium.gitbook.io/lethium-docs/server-setup/itemsadder.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
