# Installation

Step-by-step install of the Clicker server package, and adding ClickEm to an existing server.

There are two routes. **Route A** is for a new server using the Clicker package (recommended). **Route B** adds only the ClickEm plugin to a server you already run.

### Route A: the Clicker package

{% stepper %}
{% step %}

#### Prepare the machine

Install **Java 25**. Create an empty folder for the server, for example `clicker/`. Make sure the Java (TCP) and Bedrock (UDP) ports you use are free.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

#### Unpack

Unzip `Clicker.zip` into the folder. You should see `server.jar`, `plugins/`, `World1` to `World5`, and the `.yml` files next to them.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

#### Add the plugins that are not in the zip

Put the jars for **ItemsAdder** and **TAB** into `plugins/` (see [Requirements](/lethium-docs/getting-started/requirements.md)). Add **VoidGen** too, because World 1 uses it. Add a voting plugin later if you want the Vote crate.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

#### Accept the EULA

Create a file named `eula.txt` containing `eula=true`, after you have read Mojang's EULA.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

#### Set your licence key

Open `plugins/ClickEmCore/config.yml` and put your key from your purchase confirmation:

```yaml
license:
  key: "YOUR-KEY-HERE"
```

See [Licensing](/lethium-docs/getting-started/licensing-and-languages.md).
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

#### Set the server basics

In `server.properties`: `server-port`, `max-players`, `motd` (the MiniMOTD plugin overrides the list text), and `online-mode=true`. In `plugins/ItemsAdder/config.yml`: the resource-pack URL (see [ItemsAdder](/lethium-docs/server-setup/itemsadder.md)).
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

#### Start the server

Create a start script.

{% tabs %}
{% tab title="Windows (start.bat)" %}

```bat
@echo off
java -Xms4G -Xmx4G -XX:+UseG1GC -jar server.jar nogui
pause
```

{% endtab %}

{% tab title="Linux (start.sh)" %}

```bash
#!/bin/bash
java -Xms4G -Xmx4G -XX:+UseG1GC -jar server.jar nogui
```

{% endtab %}
{% endtabs %}

Change `4G` to the memory you have. Keep `Xms` and `Xmx` equal.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

#### Open the firewall

Open the Java port (TCP) and, for Bedrock, the Bedrock port as **UDP**.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

#### Check it worked

Follow [First start](/lethium-docs/getting-started/first-start.md).
{% endstep %}
{% endstepper %}

### Route B: only the plugin

If you already run Purpur or Paper 1.21 and just want ClickEm:

1. Install **MythicMobs**.
2. Copy `clickem-core-<version>.jar` into `plugins/`.
3. Install the recommended plugins you need (LuckPerms, PlaceholderAPI, WorldGuard and so on). See [Requirements](/lethium-docs/getting-started/requirements.md).
4. Start the server once. `plugins/ClickEmCore/` is created with `config.yml`, `modules/` and `lang/`.
5. Stop it, set `license.key`, and start again.

{% hint style="warning" %}
The plugin expects the **world layout** of the Clicker worlds: zones are WorldGuard regions named `zona1` to `zona24` and a `boss` region in worlds named `World1` to `World5`. On an empty server the zones, spawns and mobs have nothing to attach to. To use ClickEm on your own map, build regions and edit `zones.yml` and `spawners.yml`. See [Add a zone](/lethium-docs/how-to/add-a-zone.md).
{% endhint %}

### Folder structure after the first start

```
plugins/ClickEmCore/
  config.yml
  lang/en_us.yml
  modules/*.yml, modules/pets/*.yml
  data/           (created when players join)
```

### Next

* [First start](/lethium-docs/getting-started/first-start.md): verify everything loaded.
* [Launch checklist](/lethium-docs/getting-started/launch-checklist.md): replace the placeholder links and names.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://lethium.gitbook.io/lethium-docs/getting-started/installation.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
