# World bosses

The five world bosses: where they are, how they fight, what they drop, and how to tune them.

Each of the five worlds has one boss in a large arena at the end of the zone corridor. Bosses are the **only mobs that damage players**, and only **inside their own arena**.

| World   | Boss                                                         | Notes                                                                                                      |
| ------- | ------------------------------------------------------------ | ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| World 1 | **Worldroot Colossus** | 3 phases, Heartwood Totems heal it and must be broken. |
| World 2 | **Eclipse Sovereign** | A floating celestial lich with healing pylons. Its Total Eclipse ultimate means standing in light circles. |
| World 3 | **Drowned Leviathan** | A tide cycle, dives with hittable tentacles, and an anchor chain. No healing pillars. |
| World 4 | **The Cinder King** then **Coreflame Incarnate** | Transforms at 50% with a cinematic. |
| World 5 | **Sporeborn Herald**, **Heartroot Abomination**, **Mycelos** | Three forms and two cinematics, Heart Nodes that shield it. |

The bosses, their models and skills are all MythicMobs and BetterModel content:

| What                              | Where                                                                                                 |
| --------------------------------- | ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Boss stats (health, name, phases) | `plugins/MythicMobs/mobs/ClickEm_Bosses.yml`                                                          |
| Boss attacks                      | `plugins/MythicMobs/skills/ClickEm_BossSkills.yml` (World 1), `_W2`, `_W3`, `_W4`, `_W5`              |
| Models | BetterModel (`plugins/BetterModel/`) and the ItemsAdder resource pack |
| Where it stands, respawn time     | `plugins/ClickEmCore/modules/spawners.yml`, entries `w1_boss` to `w5_boss`                            |
| What it pays                      | `plugins/ClickEmCore/modules/mob-rewards.yml`, entries `W1Boss` to `W5Boss` and `combat.boss-rewards` |

{% hint style="info" %}
The boss skill files were **generated**. Editing a number in them works, but a full rewrite of a boss is a developer task.
{% endhint %}

### The fight

* The boss roams its arena (WorldGuard region with `boss` in its name, or `roam-region`), chases the nearest player, stops to attack, and walks home when the arena is empty. See [Spawners and mobs](/lethium-docs/gameplay/spawners-and-mobs.md).
* Attacks are **telegraphed**: they can be dodged by moving. The boss stands still and does not turn while an attack plays.
* Healing pillars, totems and Heart Nodes have health and are hit by players. The Boss Damage stat helps break them.
* Boss tags change hit strength: **exposed** x2.5, **shielded** x0.25, **invulnerable** x0 (see `boss-tag-damage` in [Combat and rewards](/lethium-docs/gameplay/combat-and-rewards.md)).
* A boss that gets stuck is teleported home.
* Every player who deals at least `boss-min-share-percent` (20) of the boss's damage gets credit and loot.

### Loot

Every credited player gets, **in full** (not split):

* 3 to 12 Echoes, at least **Epic**, with a chance at higher rarity depending on the world,
* 1 to 5 pet boxes for that world,
* a free Level boost and a free Coins boost,
* plus their share of the boss's Coins and Essence.

Tune it in `combat.boss-rewards` and `rewards` of `mob-rewards.yml`.

### Rebirth

A player must defeat the boss of the world they are leaving **3 times** to rebirth (see [Rebirth](/lethium-docs/gameplay/rebirth.md) `boss-requirements`).

### Testing a boss

`/bosskit grant <player> <boss1-5>` (staff) sets up a realistic test fight in one command:

1. Unlocks every zone up to that boss's world.
2. Gives the best gear, maxes upgrades and artifacts to that point, and equips top pets and maxed Echoes.
3. Gives the boss's loot table, heals the player, and teleports to the boss's arena.

It matches real progression, so the fight lasts about 1.5 to 3 minutes.

### How to

{% tabs %}
{% tab title="Make a boss tougher" %}
Raise `Health:` of the boss in `ClickEm_Bosses.yml`, then `/mm reload`.
{% endtab %}

{% tab title="Change the respawn time" %}
`respawn-seconds` on the boss's spawn pad in `spawners.yml` (600 = 10 minutes).
{% endtab %}

{% tab title="Change how many kills rebirth needs" %}
`boss-requirements.<World>.kills` in `rebirth.yml`.
{% endtab %}

{% tab title="Boss will not hit players" %}
Check the arena region name contains `boss`, then turn on `boss-roaming.debug` and `combat.boss-hit-debug` and watch the console.
{% endtab %}
{% endtabs %}

{% hint style="warning" %}
After every server start ClickEm runs one `/mm reload` by itself. Its two custom mechanics (`clickemsummon`, `clickemcinematic`) only exist once ClickEm has loaded, and MythicMobs reads skills before that. If a boss heal-pillar or transformation cinematic never fires, run `/mm reload` by hand once.
{% endhint %}

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://lethium.gitbook.io/lethium-docs/gameplay/world-bosses.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
