# Spawners and mobs

Where mobs stand, how they respawn, how big they look, and how world bosses roam.

Every mob in the arena is a **MythicMobs** mob. ClickEm decides *where and when* they spawn; MythicMobs decides *what they are* (health, name, skin, skills).

{% hint style="success" %}
**Quick start**

* Make a mob tougher: `Health:` in MythicMobs `ClickEm_Zonasf.yml`, then `/mm reload`.
* Change respawn speed: `respawn-seconds` on the pads in `spawners.yml`.
* Change how big mobs look: `spawn-behavior.scale`.
* Check pads are alive: `/spawners`.
* Boss will not hit: see the warning under World bosses.
  {% endhint %}

| Who decides | File                                                                              | What                                                                                          |
| ----------- | --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| ClickEm | `plugins/ClickEmCore/modules/spawners.yml` | Spawn pads: position, which mob, respawn time, how many. Spawn rules, mob size, boss roaming. |
| ClickEm | `plugins/ClickEmCore/modules/mob-rewards.yml` | What each mob pays when it dies. |
| MythicMobs | `plugins/MythicMobs/mobs/ClickEm_Zonasf.yml` | All 360 regular mobs: entity type, health, display name. |
| MythicMobs | `plugins/MythicMobs/mobs/ClickEm_Bosses.yml` and `skills/ClickEm_BossSkills*.yml` | The five world bosses and their attacks. |

### The mob layout

Every world has 24 zones with 3 mobs per zone. The mob id follows a pattern:

```
W1Z5f2   =  World 1, Zone 5, role f2
```

| Part           | Meaning                                                                                                                                                         |
| -------------- | --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| `W1`           | World 1                                                                                                                                                         |
| `Z5`           | The zone number in the climb. World 2 continues at Z25, World 3 repeats Z1 to Z24 at 10x health, World 4 is Z25 to Z48 at 10x, World 5 continues at Z49 to Z72. |
| `f1 / f2 / f3` | The three mobs of the zone. They are one species, told apart by name, health and size. |

Mobs have **no AI** and never hit back. Only the five world bosses deal damage, and only inside their arena.

### A spawn pad

```yaml
spawn-points:
  w1_z1_p1:
    zone: w1_zona1
    world: World1
    x: 706.5
    y: 126.0
    z: 542.5
    mob: W1Z1f1
    level: 1
    respawn-seconds: 5
    max-population: 1
```

| Key                              | Meaning                                                                |
| -------------------------------- | ---------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| `zone` | The zone this pad belongs to. Blank for a boss. |
| `world`, `x`, `y`, `z`           | Where the mob stands.                                                  |
| `mob` | The MythicMobs mob id. Must exist in MythicMobs. |
| `level` | MythicMobs level given to the mob. |
| `respawn-seconds` | How long after a kill before the pad refills. |
| `max-population` | How many of this mob the pad keeps alive. Use `1` for a boss. |
| `roam-region` | (Boss only) the WorldGuard region the boss roams in. |
| `respawn-countdown-lead-seconds` | How many seconds before respawn the "Respawning in..." hologram shows. |

### Global spawn settings

| Key                              | Default | What it does                                                                                                                                                             |
| -------------------------------- | ------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ |
| `max-spawns-per-tick`            | 5       | Spawns allowed per pad per pass.                                                                                                                                         |
| `max-spawns-per-tick-global`     | 200     | Spawns allowed across all pads in one pass. Stops a lag spike after a restart. `0` = unlimited.                                                                          |
| `tick-interval-ticks` | 60 | How often the pad check runs (20 ticks = 1 second). Respawn timing becomes accurate to within this interval, so keep it well below your shortest `respawn-seconds` x 20. |
| `startup-grace-seconds` | 30 | After boot, pads are not refilled for this long. Prevents duplicate bosses. |
| `respawn-countdown.enabled`      | true    | The small "Respawning in 3... 2... 1..." hologram.                                                                                                                       |
| `respawn-countdown.lead-seconds` | 3       | How long before respawn it appears.                                                                                                                                      |

### How mobs behave (`spawn-behavior`)

| Key                      | What it does                                                                                                                |
| ------------------------ | --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| `disable-ai`             | Freeze the mob.                                                                                                             |
| `disable-collision`      | Nobody can push mobs around.                                                                                                |
| `remove-invulnerability` | Every click and every auto-attack lands.                                                                                    |
| `silent`                 | No ambient sounds.                                                                                                          |
| `suppress-drops` | No vanilla drops or XP orbs. MythicMobs drops still work. |
| `health-nameplate`       | Name plate shows `Name (hp/max) <3` using short numbers like `9.5M`. Wording: lang key `clickem.spawners.health-nameplate`. |
| `scale.role-multipliers` | Size per role. Default `f1 = 1.0, f2 = 1.5, f3 = 2.0`.                                                                      |
| `scale.min-height` | Raise small species (rabbit, bat) to at least this many blocks tall. `0` = off. |
| `scale.max-scale`        | Ceiling for any mob. The game's own limit is 16.                                                                            |
| `scale.overrides`        | Exact mob id to size, for a mob that looks wrong: `W1Z5f3: 2.5`.                                                            |

Size only applies when a mob spawns. Mobs already standing on a pad change size after they die and respawn.

### World bosses

Each world has one boss. Bosses:

* walk around inside their arena (a WorldGuard region with `boss` in its name, or `roam-region`),
* chase the nearest player, stand still while attacking, wander when alone and walk home when the arena empties,
* heal back up while nobody is fighting,
* teleport home if they get stuck,
* are the **only** mobs that damage players, and only inside their arena.

All of it is under `boss-roaming:` in `spawners.yml`:

| Key                         | Default | Meaning                                                                                             |
| --------------------------- | ------- | --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| `enabled`                   | true    | `false` freezes bosses like every other mob.                                                        |
| `arena-radius` | 60 | If no arena region is found, this many blocks around the pad count as the arena. `0` = no fallback. |
| `movement-speed`            | 0.28    | Walking speed. A player walks at 0.1.                                                               |
| `speed`                     | 1.0     | Multiplier while chasing.                                                                           |
| `chase-range`               | 24      | Only chases players closer than this.                                                               |
| `stop-distance`             | 5       | Stops and faces a player this close.                                                                |
| `wander-every-seconds`      | 8       | How often it picks a new wander spot.                                                               |
| `return-home-after-seconds` | 30      | Empty-arena time before it walks home.                                                              |
| `regen.*`                   | on      | Heals `percent-per-second` (2) after `delay-seconds` (15) of an empty arena.                        |
| `stuck-recovery.*` | on | Teleports the boss home if it fails to move `min-progress-blocks` in `timeout-seconds`. |
| `debug` | false | Logs why a boss hit landed or not. Turn on if a boss will not hit you next to it. |

{% hint style="warning" %}
If a boss never hits players, the arena was not found. Check the region name contains `boss`, or set `roam-region` on the spawn point, or raise `arena-radius`.
{% endhint %}

The boss list (`boss-mobs`), boss loot and boss damage tags live in `mob-rewards.yml`. See [Combat and rewards](/lethium-docs/gameplay/combat-and-rewards.md). The five bosses are described on [World bosses](/lethium-docs/gameplay/world-bosses.md).

### How to

{% tabs %}
{% tab title="Make a mob tougher" %}
Open `plugins/MythicMobs/mobs/ClickEm_Zonasf.yml`, find the mob (for example `W1Z5f2`), change `Health:`, then run `/mm reload`. No ClickEm reload is needed.
{% endtab %}

{% tab title="Rename a mob" %}
Edit its `Display:` line in the same file. Keep the `(<caster.hp>/<caster.mhp>)` part if you want the health on the name, although ClickEm replaces the nameplate anyway when `health-nameplate` is on. Placeholders use the flavour name from this line.
{% endtab %}

{% tab title="Change the respawn speed of a zone" %}
In `spawners.yml` change `respawn-seconds` on each pad of the zone (`w1_z1_p1`, `w1_z1_p2` and so on). Search the file for `zone: w1_zona1` to find them. Reload with `/clickem module reload spawners`.
{% endtab %}

{% tab title="Make the f3 mob bigger" %}
Change `scale.role-multipliers` `3:` to a higher number, or add an entry under `scale.overrides` for one mob.
{% endtab %}

{% tab title="Stop a pad spawning" %}
Delete its entry under `spawn-points`, or set `max-population: 0`.
{% endtab %}
{% endtabs %}

Adding brand new mobs, pads and zones is covered in [Add a mob](/lethium-docs/how-to/add-a-mob.md) and [Add a zone](/lethium-docs/how-to/add-a-zone.md).

### Staff commands

`/spawners` (needs `clickem.admin`) lists every spawn pad with its mob and how many are alive out of the maximum. Use it to check that a new pad is working.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://lethium.gitbook.io/lethium-docs/gameplay/spawners-and-mobs.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
