# Pets: advanced settings

Pets in depth: enhancement, grades, boost slots, candy, tickets, scrolls, storage, universal upgrades, sets and menu layout.

Everything below lives in `plugins/ClickEmCore/modules/pets.yml` unless noted. Start with [Pets](/lethium-docs/gameplay/pets.md) for the basics.

### Enhancement (`enhancement:`)

A second upgrade layer that **never resets**, unlike prestige. `max-level: 20`, `stat-percent-per-level: 1.0`, `base-cost: 500`, `cost-growth: 1.25`, multiplied by the rarity's `enhancement-cost-multiplier` and scaled to essence.

It also has chance-based **categories** (`xp`, `level-cap`, `boost`). The player rerolls a category with Enhancement Tickets. It always succeeds, but the grade it lands on (F to GOD-LIKE) is a weighted roll and `value-ranges` sets what each grade gives. `spin:` sets the reveal animation.

### Grades (`grades:`)

Rolled once, permanently, when a pet is first obtained (egg, fusion or grant), like an "IV roll". `chance` is a relative weight.

| Grade    | Chance | Buff %   | XP rate % |
| -------- | ------ | -------- | --------- |
| F        | 35     | 0 to 2   | 0 to 2    |
| E        | 25     | 1 to 4   | 1 to 4    |
| D        | 17     | 2 to 6   | 2 to 6    |
| C        | 11     | 4 to 9   | 4 to 9    |
| B        | 6.5    | 6 to 12  | 6 to 12   |
| A        | 3.5    | 9 to 16  | 9 to 16   |
| S        | 1.2    | 13 to 20 | 13 to 20  |
| SS       | 0.6    | 18 to 26 | 18 to 26  |
| SSS      | 0.2    | 25 to 35 | 25 to 35  |
| GOD-LIKE | 0.05   | 35 to 50 | 35 to 50  |

A grade also adds 0 to 14 extra levels worth of per-level growth (`level`). A species can define its own `grades:` table with different names and odds.

### Boost slots (`boosts:`)

Up to `slots: 4` rollable random stat bonuses per pet. They start empty and the player rolls them one by one for **Boost Tickets**, then rerolls a filled slot with **Special Boost Tickets**. `eligible-stats` lists which stats can roll.

### Candy (`candy:`)

One candy item for everyone (`SUGAR`). `tiers:` turns it into a ladder (common, rare, epic, legendary) with their own XP roll. Use `/pet candy` with candy in hand. Admins: `/pet candy give <player> <amount> [tier]`. There is no world drop by default.

### Tickets (`tickets:`)

Three pet-only currencies: **Enhancement**, **Boost** and **Special Boost** tickets. They are physical items that drop from kills (`drop.*-chance`, multiplied by Luck) and are redeemed by right-click, by clicking them while a pet menu is open, or with `/pet tickets use`. Admins: `/pet tickets give <player> <type> [amount]`. Turn `tickets.enabled` off to pay Coins instead (raise the costs a lot).

### Scrolls (`scrolls:`)

Four scroll items (`owner`, `rarity`, `level`, `level-multi`) that work on pets through the Pet menu.

### Storage (`storage:`)

A pet can be **withdrawn** into a physical item (a name tag) so it can be traded, gifted and sold. The item is locked to its owner, so only they can deposit it back (`/pet withdraw`, `/pet deposit`). Change the default look with `storage.material` and `custom-model-data`.

### Universal upgrades (`universal-upgrades:`)

Bought once, apply to every pet:

| Upgrade      | Max | What                                               |
| ------------ | --- | -------------------------------------------------- |
| `level-cap`  | 20  | +5 level cap per level                             |
| `xp-gain`    | 20  | +5% XP per level                                   |
| `pet-slots`  | 7   | +1 equip slot per level                            |
| `xp-finder`  | 20  | 2.5% per level chance per kill for a bulk XP bonus |
| `xp-booster` | 20  | 2% per level chance per kill to double XP          |

### Mastery (`mastery:`)

Account-wide progress **per species**, independent of any single copy. Defaults: `leveling` base 100, growth 1.15, max 50; `rewards.per-level-currency-mult: 0.25` and titles at levels 10, 25 and 50. See [Masteries](/lethium-docs/gameplay/masteries.md).

### Set bonuses (`set-bonuses:`)

Equipping every pet of a set gives a bonus. Shipped: `oaken_set` (all six Zone 1 pets = +25% Coins) and `endstone_set` (+400% Power and +150% Essence).

### Blacklist groups

`blacklist-groups: [[Z112_5, Z112_6]]` makes pets that can never be equipped together.

### Menu layout

All pet menus are under `gui:` in `pets.yml`: `rows`, `content-slots`, `pet-slots`, control `slots`, and `*-material` keys. The shipped values are the defaults.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://lethium.gitbook.io/lethium-docs/gameplay/pets-advanced.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
