# Echoes

Echoes: elements, matchups, rarities, substats, Roll XP, salvage and presets.

File: `plugins/ClickEmCore/modules/echoes.yml`. Module id: `echoes`. Commands: `/echoes`, `/echo`.

{% hint style="success" %}
**Quick start**

* Drop more Echoes: `drop.echo-chance` in `echoes.yml`.
* Change a matchup: `matchup` (one direction only).
* Change a world's element: `mob-elements`.
* Give an Echo: `/ceadmin echoes grant <player> [element] [rarity]`.
* Deep settings are on the [advanced page](/lethium-docs/gameplay/echoes-advanced.md).
  {% endhint %}

Echoes are **collectible, equippable combat items**. Each has an **element**, a **rarity** and rolled stat lines. The equipped Echoes decide the player's **element**, which decides how they fare against each mob.

### Elements and matchups

Five elements: **Fire, Earth, Lightning, Water, Wind**. A player's element is simply the one their equipped Echoes lean toward most (each equipped Echo adds its level to its own element). With nothing equipped or an exact tie the player is **Neutral**.

The default is a "pentagon with skip": each element is Strong against one, Very Strong against one, Weak against one and Very Weak against one, so there are no neutral matchups among the five.

| Element | Strong against | Very strong against |
| --------- | -------------- | ------------------- |
| Fire      | Earth          | Lightning           |
| Earth     | Lightning      | Water               |
| Lightning | Water          | Wind                |
| Water     | Wind           | Fire                |
| Wind      | Fire           | Earth               |

Only one direction is written in `matchup:`. The reverse is automatic.

| Tier        | Damage multiplier (`tier-multipliers`) |
| ----------- | -------------------------------------- |
| Very weak   | 0.5                                    |
| Weak        | 0.75                                   |
| Neutral     | 1.0                                    |
| Strong      | 1.5                                    |
| Very strong | 2.0                                    |

#### Mob elements (`mob-elements`)

Maps mob ids to an element, with `prefix*` wildcard matching. Keys **need the trailing `f`** (`"W1Z1f*"`), or `"W1Z1*"` would also match `W1Z10f1`. World 3 is all Water, World 4 all Fire and World 5 all Wind by default. World 1 zones 1 to 3 have no entry on purpose, so a new player is not hit by elemental swings before finding an Echo. A mob with no entry is Neutral.

```yaml
mob-elements:
  "W1Z4f*": EARTH
  "W3Z*": WATER
```

### Rarities

All share the same 35 level cap and **breakpoints** `[5, 10, 15, 25, 35]`. The Main Stat exists from level 1 and a new substat unlocks at each breakpoint (5 substats when fully levelled). Power comes entirely from `roll-multiplier` and `drop-weight`.

| Rarity    | Roll multiplier | Drop weight |
| --------- | --------------- | ----------- |
| COMMON    | 0.45            | 40          |
| RARE      | 0.6             | 30          |
| EPIC      | 0.8             | 20          |
| LEGENDARY | 1.0             | 3           |
| MYTHICAL  | 1.15            | 0.5         |
| ANCIENT   | 1.3             | 0.12        |
| EVENT     | 1.5             | 0           |

`EVENT` never drops. It is given by events or `/ceadmin echoes grant`.

> **Deep settings:** the substat pool, levelling curve, salvage, presets and terminals are on [Echoes: advanced settings](/lethium-docs/gameplay/echoes-advanced.md).

### Dropping

| Key                           | Default                          | Meaning                                                                                                     |
| ----------------------------- | -------------------------------- | ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| `drop.echo-chance`            | 5.0                              | Percent per kill, times Luck.                                                                               |
| `drop.echo-chance-cap`        | 80.0                             | Hard cap of chance x Luck.                                                                                  |
| `drop.roll-fragment-chance`   | 8.0                              | Chance of a **Roll Fragment** item.                                                                         |
| `drop.roll-fragment-xp-value` | 10                               | Roll XP per deposited fragment.                                                                             |
| `zone-rarity-cap` | `1-4: RARE` ... `21-24: ANCIENT` | Highest rarity a kill can roll, by local zone number. This stops farming the easiest zone for top rarities. |

The **Echo Charge** bar builds toward a guaranteed drop. Bosses also give Echoes (see [Combat and rewards](/lethium-docs/gameplay/combat-and-rewards.md)). Lucky mobs add to the chance. The zone `farm-window` in `zones.yml` restricts rare drops to a player's latest zones.

### Loadout

| Key                                 | Default                     | Meaning                                                                                                                            |
| ----------------------------------- | --------------------------- | ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| `starter-rarity` | COMMON | A free starter Echo, equipped, once, only when the player owns none. Empty = none. |
| `slots.max-equipped`                | 5                           | Equip slots. A Rebirth milestone adds one more (see [Rebirth](/lethium-docs/gameplay/rebirth.md)).                                 |
| `slots.same-stats-max-echoes`       | 1                           | Most equipped Echoes with the same Main Stat.                                                                                      |
| `slots.max-owned` | 0 | Most Echoes a player can own. `0` = no limit. When full, drops give nothing until they salvage. |
| `main-slot.main-stat-bonus-percent` | 50 | The **Main Echo** (middle-click one in the menu) gets this extra on its Main Stat line. |
| `set-bonus.<ELEMENT>` | 3 and 5 of the same element | Only the highest threshold met applies. Fire: Power, Earth: Defense, Lightning: Attack Speed, Water: Lifesteal, Wind: Crit Chance. |

### How to

* **Drop more Echoes:** raise `drop.echo-chance` or `roll-fragment-chance`.
* **Make rarities rarer:** lower their `drop-weight`.
* **Change an element's matchup:** edit `matchup` (one direction only).
* **Make a whole world a different element:** edit the `"W3Z*"` style keys in `mob-elements`.
* **Change menu layout:** `gui.*`.

### Staff commands

`/ceadmin echoes grant <player> [element] [rarity]` (`random` as the element lets you pick only a rarity), `set <player> <echoId> <level>`, `delete`, `list`, `set-block`, `unset-block`, `hitbox`.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://lethium.gitbook.io/lethium-docs/gameplay/echoes.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
