# Boosts

Timed multipliers, Boost Charges, tiers, cooldowns and how to add a boost.

File: `plugins/ClickEmCore/modules/boosts.yml`. Module id: `boosts`. Commands: `/boosts`, `/boost`.

{% hint style="success" %}
**Quick start**

* Change a boost's strength: its `bonus` in `boosts.yml`.
* Give a boost free: `/ceadmin boosts grant <player> <boost> [minutes]`.
* Sell one for Gems: add its id to `personal-boosts` in `gemsshop.yml`.
  {% endhint %}

A **Boost** is a temporary multiplier on top of the permanent stat stack. Players activate them from `/boosts`.

### What activating costs

All three are needed at once:

| Cost          | Key           | Notes                                                 |
| ------------- | ------------- | ----------------------------------------------------- |
| Coins         | `cost`        | Scaled to the player's progress.                      |
| Boost Charges | `charge-cost` | Earned by playing, never bought.                      |
| Gems          | `gem-cost`    | The premium currency. Tier I = 10, II = 30, III = 80. |

The **Gems Shop exclusives** at the bottom of the file (`gems_power_surge`, `gems_currency_windfall`, `gems_crit_overdrive`, `gems_boss_bane`) cost Gems only (`cost: 0`, `charge-cost: 0`).

### Charges

```yaml
charges:
  kill-drop-chance: 0.05
  kill-drop-amount: 1
  per-quest-claim: 2
  per-achievement-unlock: 5
```

A small chance of a few Charges on each kill, plus a guaranteed amount on a quest claim and an achievement unlock. This ties Boosts into the quest and achievement loops.

### The boost ladder

There are nine categories with three tiers each:

| Category        | Stats it boosts                         |
| --------------- | --------------------------------------- |
| Currency Rush   | Coins                                   |
| Damage Surge | Power and crit chance |
| Crit Fury       | Crits                                   |
| Boss Edge       | Boss damage                             |
| Fortune's Favor | Luck                                    |
| Swift Warrior   | Speed                                   |
| Essence Surge   | Essence                                 |
| Power Boost     | Power                                   |
| Level Boost     | Profile XP (`profile-xp-bonus-percent`) |

Tier I is open from the start, tier II needs a Profile Level and a zone, tier III needs a Rebirth, a zone and a themed achievement.

### One boost entry

```yaml
boosts:
  currency_rush_2:
    rarity: EPIC
    display-name: "clickem.boosts.currency_rush_2.name"
    duration-seconds: 2400
    cost: 2000
    charge-cost: 15
    gem-cost: 30
    cooldown-seconds: 1200
    max-daily-activations: 5
    stacking-mode: RESET
    requirements:
      min-level: 15
      required-zone: w2_zona1
    material: STRING
    custom-model-data: 10010
    bonus:
      currency-mult: 50
```

| Key                                       | Meaning                                                                                             |
| ----------------------------------------- | --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| `duration-seconds`                        | How long it lasts.                                                                                  |
| `cooldown-seconds` | Extra wait after it ends before it can be used again. |
| `max-daily-activations` | Uses per real day for that boost. `0` = unlimited. Stops chaining one boost with a pile of Charges. |
| `stacking-mode`                           | `RESET`: buying again restarts a fresh timer. `EXTEND`: buying again adds a full duration.          |
| `fade-seconds` | The bonus shrinks to zero over this many seconds before expiring. `0` = ends suddenly. |
| `requirements`                            | `min-level`, `min-rebirth`, `required-zone`, `required-achievement`.                                |
| `bonus`                                   | [Stat keys](/lethium-docs/configuration/stats-and-limits.md) and their percent.                     |
| `profile-xp-bonus-percent` | Percent added to every Profile XP gain while active. |
| `bundle` | Other boost ids that start for free together, for selling combos. |
| `rarity`, `material`, `custom-model-data` | Tooltip frame and icon.                                                                             |

`magnitude.max-stack` (default 3.0) caps how far stacked boosts can multiply together.

### How to

{% tabs %}
{% tab title="Change a boost's strength" %}
Edit its `bonus` value, for example `currency-mult: 50` (+50% Coins). Reload with `/clickem module reload boosts`.
{% endtab %}

{% tab title="Add a boost" %}
Copy an entry, give it a new id, add `clickem.boosts.<id>.name` to `lang/en_us.yml`, then reload.
{% endtab %}

{% tab title="Sell a boost in the Gems Shop" %}
Give it `cost: 0` and `charge-cost: 0` and a `gem-cost`, then add its id to `personal-boosts` in `gemsshop.yml`. See [Gems Shop](/lethium-docs/gameplay/gems-shop.md).
{% endtab %}

{% tab title="Give a boost to a player" %}
`/ceadmin boosts grant <player> <boost> [minutes]`. Free, ignores requirements. Remove with `/ceadmin boosts clear <player> [boost]`.
{% endtab %}
{% endtabs %}

Boosts can also be granted as rewards: world bosses give a random Level and Coins boost (see [Combat and rewards](/lethium-docs/gameplay/combat-and-rewards.md)) and the Season Pass can grant boosts (see [Season Pass](/lethium-docs/gameplay/season-pass.md)).

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://lethium.gitbook.io/lethium-docs/gameplay/boosts.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
